Solo trip and never once felt unsafe or lost across three different cities. Crystal Cove snorkeling was a genuine highlight, so much marine life just metres from the boat.
Being a solo female traveller, I honestly felt completely comfortable the whole six nights. Intramuros in Manila and the marine life at Crystal Cove were the two standouts for me.
Intramuros and the marine life at Crystal Cove were the two standouts, no question. But I got roped into a fairly pushy shopping stop near Manila that ate up time I would much rather have spent properly at the old walls. Minor, but it stuck with me.
Six nights alone across Manila, Boracay and Cebu turned into one of my favourite solo trips in years. Intramuros gave the history fix I always look for when I travel by myself. Boracay was where I properly relaxed, White Beach at sunset with a drink in hand needs no company at all. Sumilon Island's shifting sandbar was such a peaceful, almost meditative experience walking on it solo. Would happily repeat this exact route again.
As a solo traveller I found this route really well paced, enough activity in Manila without feeling rushed. Boracay sunsets alone on White Beach were oddly one of the more peaceful evenings I have had in years.
Booked this alone with zero expectations and came back genuinely recharged. Walking through Intramuros on my own gave me time to actually read every plaque instead of rushing past. Snorkeling trip to Crystal Cove had a small friendly group which was perfect for meeting fellow travellers without losing my solo pace. White Beach sunset in Boracay is one of those views that photos just cannot do justice to. Sumilon Island's sandbar at low tide felt like walking on water, genuinely surreal.
May to October, offering mostly dry, sunny days perfect for island exploration, though do note June marks the start of the monsoon season.
