Cours Saleya Flower Market on a weekday morning was quiet enough to actually enjoy without crowds, we ended up buying more soap and lavender than we needed. Old Town's narrow streets at night have a charm that photos really do not capture properly. Would return just for this market alone.

Cours Saleya Flower Market the next morning was full of colour and smell, a lovely slow start to the day. Promenade des Anglais in the evening light was made for exactly the kind of unhurried walk we wanted.

The Bay of Angels view from Castle Hill is stunning, but the climb in the afternoon heat left us both puffing and hunting for a shady bench before we could enjoy it. Go early morning if you can, we wished we had.
Nice charmed us, though the Promenade got packed by mid-morning and finding a quiet stretch to walk hand in hand took some doing. The Old Town at night was calmer and lovelier, just wish the seafront had been less of a scrum.
