KL itself was great but we went in July and the humidity made even short walks between sights exhausting. Would recommend earlier or later in the year unless you don't mind sweating through your clothes by 10am.
A solid quick getaway, though the Thean Hou Temple visit felt squeezed in before a long lunch that overran. My wife and I would gladly have traded that for another hour among the lanterns. Petronas at night saved the day, as it always seems to.
Squeezed this in as a quick city break before a longer trip elsewhere and it worked well as a standalone too. Thean Hou Temple was peaceful in the morning and a nice contrast to the noise of Chinatown just a short drive away. My partner loved the Petronas Towers lighting up at dusk, we must have taken fifty photos between us. Three nights is genuinely enough to feel like you've seen KL properly without rushing.
For a first international trip together this was ideal, low stress and all the big KL sights in one tidy window. The Petronas Towers after dark were the clear highlight for both of us.
