Krabi Family Escape: Island Wonders & Coastal Charms

Went as a family of four including our six year old and it was a lovely short break. Phang Nga Bay was calm and safe enough that even our daughter could paddle a little herself with help, and the limestone cliffs rising out of the water left all of us speechless. Ao Nang sunset was lovely though quite crowded with other families doing the same thing. The only real gripe was the long tuk tuk transfer back from the pier which felt like it took forever after a tiring day in the sun.

We went with our teenage daughters and both loved the Ao Nang sunset evening, it made for great photos that are still their phone wallpapers months later. The Phi Phi snorkeling stop earlier that same day had them in the water longer than we planned, which threw the schedule off slightly but nobody minded. The itinerary is a bit packed for four nights so plan to be tired by day three, legs sore from all the walking between boats and vans. Worth every bit of the tiredness though, it's not often you get teenagers this excited about a family trip.

Three generations, one trip, zero arguments, that alone tells you how well this was planned.

The kids loved paddling in Phang Nga Bay and the limestone cliffs really are something. The long tuk tuk transfer back from the pier felt like it went on forever after a full day in the sun with a tired six year old though, that was the one part we'd change.

Wasn't sure four nights would be enough for a family of five, but it worked perfectly. The Phi Phi water was so clear our kids spotted fish before their masks were even on, and Grandma kept saying the limestone karsts felt like a film set. Evenings by the pool were our quiet time.
