Just four nights in Dubai with two children under twelve turned out to be the smoothest family holiday we have had in years. The Burj Al Arab from outside is genuinely more impressive in person than any photo, the kids kept asking to go closer. Palm Jumeirah's scale is hard to explain to anyone who has not driven across it themselves, pure engineering spectacle. We let the kids pick between the theme park and the aquarium and ended up doing both across two different afternoons since neither wanted to miss out. Bluewaters in the evening, with the lights and the atmosphere, was the perfect wind down after busy days.
Theme park day was chosen unanimously by both kids over the aquarium and honestly it delivered non stop excitement from the moment we walked in. Palm Jumeirah drive past felt more impressive than any brochure photo prepared us for, the scale of it is hard to grasp until you are actually there. Burj Al Arab viewed from the beach nearby gave us a proper photo stop before heading back for the evening. Bluewaters in the evening added a nice, relaxed close to an otherwise high energy day for the kids. Only complaint is how long the queue was to enter Bluewaters on a weekend evening, worth planning around if you can.
