Our farewell dinner overlooking the water summed up the whole trip, calm, romantic, exactly what we needed after two hectic years of work.
Cairns itself is beautiful but food around the resort strip is quite overpriced for what you get, we ended up paying way more than planned for basic meals most nights. The reef and gorge experiences were genuinely wonderful though, so it balances out somewhat.
Daintree Rainforest walk at Mossman Gorge was cool and peaceful, loved dipping our feet in that icy stream. Only issue was our reef tour got shortened due to weather so we missed one of the two dive spots. Still a lovely five days overall.
