Sea World was fantastic but queues for the dolphin show got long by midday, go early if travelling with young kids. We ended up standing for nearly forty minutes before the show started, which tested everyone's patience a bit. Currumbin the day before was much better organised and the kids loved getting up close to the kangaroos. Everything else about the Gold Coast leg was smooth and family friendly.
Great family days out, but the beach was heaving the weekend we visited and parking near Surfers Paradise was a nightmare.
Surfers Paradise Beach was heaving with people the weekend we visited and we also got cornered by a timeshare sales pitch near our hotel that ate up an hour of our evening. Wildlife sanctuary and Tamborine walk were lovely though, kids loved both.
Our kids still talk about feeding kangaroos at Currumbin, hand on their soft noses and everything. Sea World's dolphin show got a standing ovation from our two little ones, genuinely one of the best family days we have had. Tamborine's rainforest walk the next day gave us grown-ups some quiet time while kids collected leaves. Surfers Paradise Beach in the evenings was the perfect wind-down for everyone.
