That drive from Split to Plitvice and onward to Zagreb turned into a very long day for our children, lots of complaining in the back seat by the end. Dubrovnik and the Blue Lagoon swimming stop were absolutely worth it though.
Bringing along my in-laws for Croatia, everyone found something to love, especially Split's old palace alleys.
Lovely family trip, but the Blue Lagoon swim stop was busier than expected and finding space for the kids to snorkel took some patience.
Swimming and snorkelling near the Elafiti islands is all our kids will talk about, easily their favourite part of Croatia. Plitvice was a long drive but the lakes and waterfalls made it completely worthwhile.
Travelling with grandparents and kids was made so much easier by the luxury hotels throughout this Croatia trip. Blue Lagoon swimming was the standout activity for the children by far.
Dubrovnik and the Blue Lagoon swim were absolutely worth it, but the city gets uncomfortably crowded by afternoon and we learned fast to do the Old Town early with the kids. Plitvice was a long drive too, though the lakes made it worthwhile in the end.
