Kids loved the Mt Titlis cable car and the chocolate tasting at Maison Cailler easily the most out of everything on this trip. Lucerne and Interlaken were both lovely bases, though we found ourselves a bit rushed getting between activities most days.
Pairing Chillon Castle with the GoldenPass train ride is a genuinely clever bit of routing, turned a transfer into a full day out for the family. Zurich felt like an afterthought tacked onto the end though, we would have preferred an extra night in Interlaken instead.
Lake Lucerne cruise gave the grandparents a calm afternoon while the kids counted swans off the deck.
Mt Titlis cable car ride was the single biggest hit with our children, that revolving cabin genuinely impressed even my in-laws who came along. Lake Lucerne's calm cruise beforehand gave everyone a nice breather before the more adventurous part of the day.
Jungfraujoch with the whole family in July, snow everywhere, kids still talk about it.
Took our two kids, ages nine and twelve, on this Switzerland trip and it easily ranks as our best family holiday to date. Jungfraujoch was the big showstopper, standing at the Top of Europe with snow all around in the middle of summer had the kids absolutely amazed. The Mt Titlis revolving cable car after our Lake Lucerne cruise was a close second favourite for them. The GoldenPass train ride to Chillon Castle turned what could have been a boring transfer day into one of the highlights itself. Maison Cailler's chocolate tasting had both kids asking to go back the very next day.
