Munnar's tea gardens were as gorgeous as every photo promises. Thekkady's wildlife spotting was hit or miss for us, only spotted a few deer and no elephants that day.
Honeymoon trip to Munnar and Thekkady turned out better than we could have planned ourselves. The drive up through the tea estates with the mist rolling over the hills set a beautifully calm tone from day one. Watching elephants from our boat on Periyar Lake felt like something out of a documentary, completely unscripted and real. Even the simple evenings walking through the plantation paths together were some of our favourite quiet moments.
Kerala's hill stations delivered exactly the romantic, misty escape we were after. Periyar Lake safari in the morning fog was the standout memory.
