Beautiful short break, but the boat out to Sumilon left much earlier than we'd realised and we ended up rushing breakfast to make it. Worth checking the departure time the night before so your one relaxed morning stays relaxed.

Cebu gave us a bit of history and a lot of beach, Magellan's Cross for context and then Sumilon for the whole rest of the day. A perfect little reset for two.
Picked this for our anniversary as a short break and it turned out better than expected for just three nights. The sandbar at Sumilon is genuinely postcard material, powder soft sand with water so clear you can see your feet from standing height. Snorkeling just off the sandbar had us seeing coral and fish within minutes of getting in the water, no long boat ride required. Magellan's Cross gave us a bit of grounding history before the beach day, a nice contrast that made the trip feel more than just a beach holiday.
