Our kids had been asking about the Eiffel Tower for years so we finally booked this trip, and it did not disappoint. Nice gave everyone a gentle start with the sea breeze and easy walks along the promenade. By the time we reached Paris the excitement in the car was something else entirely.
Mona Lisa was smaller than my kids expected but the whole Louvre hall around it made up for it.
Riviera part was gorgeous but the Paris hotel area near our stay had shockingly expensive food options for a family of four. Kids enjoyed the flower market more than the museums honestly. Eiffel Tower at night was worth the crowd though.

Promenade des Anglais in the evening with the whole family walking slowly by the water was easily our favourite part of the whole trip. The flower market the next morning gave our daughter her first real taste of a proper European market, colours and smells she still describes to her friends. Paris leg felt a bit packed for the kids who were tired by the second museum stop in a single day. Eiffel Tower at night thankfully revived everyone's energy instantly, tired legs forgotten the moment the lights came on. Still a lovely family itinerary overall for a first Europe trip with children, just paced a touch quickly toward the end.
Nine and thirteen is a tricky age gap, but this trip somehow kept both of them happy throughout.
