Chocolate factory tour at Maison Cailler was sweet in every sense of the word. Gift shop prices for extra chocolate boxes felt a touch steep though.
The scenery from Bern down to Montreux is undeniable and the kids had a ball, but once the GoldenPass train got us in we had almost no free time in Montreux itself, straight to dinner and that was that. A bit more breathing room would have helped.
Bern felt a bit rushed compared to the other cities on this route. We barely had half a day there before moving on to Lucerne. One of the hotel check-ins on this leg took almost two hours which ate into our sightseeing time. Would have appreciated at least one extra night built into Bern.
Standing at Kleine Scheidegg with the Eiger and Jungfrau towering above was unforgettable.
Peak Walk by Tissot at Glacier 3000 turned my nervous nine-year-old into a proper little daredevil.
