Switzerland with kids can be logistically tricky but this itinerary handled it well with good pacing between activity and rest days. One of our train transfers between Bern and Lucerne got delayed which meant a late check in. Otherwise a lovely week for the whole family.
Premium tier hotels made travelling with children so much easier, extra room space and better breakfast options mattered a lot. Chapel Bridge and the old town of Lucerne charmed even our teenager who usually complains about sightseeing. Would recommend this route to any family doing Switzerland for the first time.
Booked this for a big family reunion trip, three generations together across Bern, Lucerne and Interlaken. Bear Park was a gentle start that eased everyone into the trip including my elderly father in law. Chapel Bridge and the old towns gave us plenty of easy walking with photo stops. Jungfraujoch was cold and the altitude got to a couple of us briefly but the views were unforgettable regardless.
We travelled with our two kids and my parents, six of us in total, and this itinerary managed to keep everyone happy which is no small feat. Bern's bear park and old town gave the grandparents an easy first couple of days. Lucerne's Chapel Bridge walk was gentle enough for everyone's pace. Jungfraujoch was the trip highlight for the kids, actual snow in the middle of summer left them speechless.
